Hello everyone!
My family of four have been living in a small camper trailer for over a year and a half now. The camper is not built for inclement weather or for being consistently lived in, so it is breaking down quickly. The main heater has not worked since last fall, leaving us to have to use a small propane Buddy Heater for heat. We have also been battling a severe amount of mold and mildew growing everywhere, constantly. The walls are delaminating and separating. Now the property we have been living on is becoming hostile and unsafe for us to continue to stay at.
We have located a safer place to be with a solid walled cabin and a well on it, but it is on the other side of our state. I work as a caregiver but because of our daughters preschool schedule and undiagnosed (as of yet) serious medical issues with my husband, I am only able to work 22hrs a week, which does not bring in very much money.
We must move by the end of April and we will need to make several trips across passes to get our belongings over to the new place. We just do not have the funds available to make the trips we need to or rent a moving truck to speed the process along. I have someone willing to drive the moving truck if we are able to get one, as my husband is now legally blind and unable to drive at all, so I can drive our vehicle over with any other belongings and our daughter.
Our family has faced many hardships in the last two years but we are not giving in or giving up. We do not have any more family or friends that we can ask for help from and local programs currently have a freeze on being able to help anyone with things like this. I have a job lined up for after we move and are able to get settled in. However, we could really use a little help right now to get us to a more healthy environment for the health and safety of us all, but especially my daughter and my husband.
