My husband is a 42-year-old very healthy, active, hardworking man with his main goal in life is to take care of his family, we have 4 children. He was recently diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. We can’t get short term disability because they say it was “pre-existing” He will not be able to continue working and faces losing his job which he has medical insurance through. I don’t know where to turn so I’m going to try any and everything I can to save his life. He is having surgery next week but the insurance won’t pay for the chemo and radiation at this time, so Oncology is not able to shrink the tumor prior to surgery. When they do approve it we do not know how we are going to pay for it. I am the only one working at the moment at 2 nursing jobs, so I am not able to stay home and take care of my beautiful husband. Please help. I would never reach out like this in any situation except to save a loved one’s life. He is so young and vibrant, also on the go, loves life and enjoys the happiness of things. Recently he has been so weak he is not able to do anything that requires exertion. Not even dance with me in the kitchen. He is so loving and very generous. We need him, his kids need him. It’s not too late for Fred if we can get things going the way they should without worrying about how we are going to be able to pay for treatment. We have already spent all of our savings and borrowed money from family members for all of the testing and co-pays and deductibles and we have only just started. Anything will help. This man is the humblest, courageous man I’ve every known. Please help save his life before we run out of time.
