Carol was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ductal carcinoma (breast cancer) in December 2025.  After considering various treatment options, both conventional and alternative, Doug & Carol made the decision to pursue an alternative integrative cancer treatment protocol at the Euromed Foundation in Phoenix, AZ.

Their approach is that of “integrating advanced medical innovations with proven treatment alternatives from the world’s top authorities, [to] create a therapeutic environment in which each patient’s treatment is tailored to their specific needs.”  To learn more please check out their website euromedfoundation.com/about-us/

Given the seriousness of Carol’s cancer and her specific needs we believe that this is the best course of action for her treatment at this time.  Since this is an alternative treatment method insurance does not cover the costs.  We will be flying to Phoenix for the initial minimum of four weeks of treatment.  Cost for treatment at Euromed, travel, lodging and food costs will be significant.  If anyone would like to help with our expenses, we would be so grateful.   Most importantly though, please pray that our faith would be strengthened through this trial and Carol would be comforted by our gracious Lord each step of the way.  Carol’s cancer diagnosis has been particularly challenging given Doug’s ongoing health struggles over the past few years and his being on disability.   We are so grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness to us over the years and are confident that He will continue to provide and care for us.  We do appreciate your love and friendship and cherish your prayer support on this journey.

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we will be flying to Phoenix this Saturday December 27.  Carol will start treatment Monday December 29 at 7:30 a.m.  We are grateful for the Lord’s guidance in finding and booking an Airbnb just a half mile from the clinic for our time there.  Thanks for continuing to pray that God will give wisdom to the medical team and that Carol will sense God’s peace and love.

“O give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting (Psalm 107:1).” Just an update from Phoenix– we arrived safely and Carol is now in week #2 of treatments.  The treatment protocol has been challenging and there is a lot of information to process and understand. Carol’s third low dose chemo was this morning. Please pray for her body system to balance out.
We received encouraging results from the PET scan and brain MRI that was done last week. The cancer has not spread to the brain or other parts of the body!  All thanks and praise to our gracious God!

Carol has completed 2 weeks of treatment here in Phoenix at Euromed Foundation. Thank you for your continued prayer support and love. We began the week with a surgical procedure for port placement for easier access for infusions, IVs etc.  Carol has IPT (chemo) treatment twice a week along with additional daily therapies generally for 3- 4 hours each day to boost her immune system and strengthen her body.  We have met other believers who are also undergoing treatment from IL and Canada.  And one final huge blessing is that Carol’s long time friend from childhood, Lori, flew in and is staying at the airbnb with us to help cook.

Please also pray for Doug as his psoriatic arthritis flared up earlier this week.  We have seen some improvement as the week has progressed and are thankful.

Psalm 16:8, “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” Appreciate you all!

Thanks to all who have offered prayer and concern for Carol. She has completed 3 weeks of cancer treatment and will be at Euromed Foundation here in Phoenix for another week and a half before evaluation. God has answered prayer for reduced side effects from chemo. A prayer need is that her liver, kidney, and platelet counts will continue to stay at healthy levels. Also, that God will pour out His grace upon her spiritually/emotionally. We are grateful for your support and love!

Greetings from sunny Arizona; high today is 72! Wish those experiencing extreme winter up North could escape and join us!

Thanks for your continued prayer support. Please pray for renewed strength, peace and hope. We meet with the entire medical and homeopathic team tomorrow morning for evaluation of Carol’s progress so far and plans for moving forward with further treatment. Based on recommendations at this meeting we will need to make decisions on whether to return home this weekend and return later for further treatment or to stay on here at this time and continue with treatment.
Thanks for your love, support and concern for us as we trust the Lord together!

We praise God for His mercies extended to us and for the demonstration of His love and power! Carol’s Dr. panel agreed that her body is taking the treatments favorably and that she has had a good “cancer kill” for this first month. Based on the progress made the recommendation is to continue for another 4 weeks with half the chemo treatments (1x per week instead of 2x), along with the immune building therapies. That means 4 days a week instead of 5 for February and reevaluation again Feb 27.

Friday Jan 30 we moved from the Airbnb rental to a fellow believer’s home in Scottsdale about 30 minutes from the clinic. A prayer need is to find a reasonable rental closer to the clinic.

We are so thankful for your continued prayerful support!

We are in the midst of week 9  at Euromed Foundation and we want to say thank you to all who asked God to supply a reasonable rental that we have been in since Feb. 15th.

The second Dr panel meeting will  be this Thursday Feb 26, most likely followed by a final low dose chemo and detox Friday morning Feb 27 before flying home that evening.  Carol is very eager to be home for 2 weeks!

During that time Carol will need to stay well so that she can have an accurate PET/CT scan done back in Arizona on March 16.  We are asking our gracious Lord to protect her  from bugs/germs on the flight to OH and back to AZ and during her time at home seeing relatives and friends.   The plan is to resume one week of treatment/therapy from March 16-20 with evaluation of PET scan on March 19 to determine ongoing treatments.   She is experiencing  typical cancer fatigue and  having some sensitivities to the chemo.  We are quite pleased with the quality care and immune building therapies she is receiving at Euromed!   Our hearts are grateful for your support and prayer!  “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end….they are new every morning, great is His faithfulness!”

We have been home for a week already, thankful to be in our own bed and in familiar territory! We praise God for another good report from the Dr Panel prior to coming home!  Cancer markers are all headed in the right direction.  Thus far  Carol has stayed well, avoiding the bugs and viruses going around.  We continue to look to Christ in this journey, thankful for each one of you.  We return to Phoenix March 15 for the PET/CT scan, evaluation and treatment.

We give thanks to the Lord for continued good progress in Carol’s healing journey fighting breast cancer.  PET/CT Scan results demonstrated clear improvement in reduction in size of tumors.  For now the Dr recommendation is to continue with 1 low dose chemo treatment per week for the next 4 weeks along with the additional wellness treatments.  We came home Friday (3/20) to regroup and will return to AZ this Wednesday 3/25 to get a chemo in yet this week.  Next Dr Panel evaluation is April 16.  We would appreciate prayer as we navigate travel, lodging needs around treatment plans and scheduling at Euromed.  Also pray for direction/discernment concerning work for Doug.  We continue to trust in our Lord’s providential care and provision.
