Hello, my name is Sherrie Tipper. I reluctantly must come to you asking for help. I find it hard to ask for help as I have lived my life in the service of others. I have worked over 30 years for various Emergency Medical Services in 9 counties, 3 hospitals, and 2 fire departments. Due to health issues I had to retire a little early in January then May 9th I was diagnosed with cancer.
I was diagnosed with a very rare form of intraepithelial adenocarcinoma skin cancer called Extra Mammary Paget Disease. Less than 1% of all women in the world get this form of cancer. It is so rare that they don’t know much about it. We tried experimental medication which did not help. Matter of fact, it may have made it worse as it tripled in size since it was discovered just about 4 months ago, so insurance will no longer pay for any treatments other than surgery.
I will need several surgeries due to cancer removal and reconstructive plastic surgeries. The first 2 surgeries will be on September 19, and possibly a third one two to three days later. After insurance pays their part, I must pay $9,693.53 for the first 2 surgeries. With just social security I cannot come up with this much money. I have been making jewelry (necklaces, earrings, bracelets, prayer beads, rosaries, and key chains) to sell also a dear friend has made a beautiful scrapbook that holds over 120 photos. Thanks to Diana, shop owner, of Master Cuts Drink and get Faded, located at 2013 W. Washington St. in Stephenville, the homemade items I have will be show cased at her beauty / barber shop.
