On Good Friday, our world changed in an instant.
Jessica, a devoted mother of three and the heart of our family, was rushed to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms. The fear was overwhelming. After days of uncertainty and testing, we received a diagnosis that few people understand: Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
FND is a complex and often misunderstood condition. It affects how the brain sends and receives signals—not because of structural damage, but because of a disruption in how brain network’s function. The symptoms are very real and can include seizures, paralysis, speech difficulties, chronic pain, and extreme fatigue. For Jessica, it has meant unpredictable episodes, mobility challenges, and a sudden loss of independence.
But FND doesn’t just impact the person diagnosed—it reshapes the lives of everyone around them.
Jessica’s husband, Mike, has had to step away from work to become her full-time caregiver while also caring for their three children. The emotional toll is immense, and the financial strain is growing. With Jessica unable to drive, work, or manage daily tasks, Mike is doing everything he can to keep the family afloat—juggling doctor visits, therapy sessions, and the needs of three young kids who are trying to understand why their mom can’t play or move like she used to.
Through it all, what keeps Jessica’s spirit lifted is the unwavering support of her family and her strong, growing faith. She believes deeply that the Lord’s plans for her life are far greater than her own, and she is trusting the process—believing that this season is preparing her for something extraordinary to come. Each day is a new day, and even through pain and struggle, Jessica finds the blessings tucked inside it. Her strength, grace, and gratitude are a daily inspiration to everyone around her.
FND is treatable, but recovery is slow and requires a team of specialists, consistent therapy, and a stable home environment. Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover everything, and the costs of medical care, transportation, and basic living expenses are mounting.
We’re asking for your help.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Medical bills and ongoing therapy
• Transportation to appointments
• Childcare and educational support for the kids
• Household expenses while Mike is out of work
Jessica is a fighter. She’s the kind of mom who turns bedtime into a storybook adventure and school projects into works of art. She’s always been the one to show up for others—now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Even if you can’t donate, your prayers and support mean the world to us. Sharing this campaign helps raise awareness of FND and brings comfort to families like ours who are walking through the unknown. Every prayer, every share, every kind word is a reminder that we’re not alone in this journey.
Thank you for standing with Jessica, Mike, and their beautiful children during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness is a light in the dark.
With gratitude,
The Fetke Family
