“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” — Matthew 17:20

Our precious friend, daughter, and sister in Christ, Christin Umsted, is 45 years old and fighting Stage IV cervical cancer. Today, we are asking for your help moving what currently feels like an impossible mountain.

If you know Christin, you know how fitting her name is—Christ is quite literally in her name, and her faith flows through the way she lives her life. She is one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet, has a servant’s heart, and is always willing to help someone else. Even during her own hospitalization, while sick and in pain, she was making friends with nurses, doctors, patients, and families and encouraging the people around her.

Now it is our turn to help Christin.

Her Fight So Far

After receiving her cervical cancer diagnosis, Christin dove into research and chose to pursue science-backed alternative treatment options rather than the toxic chemo and radiation.  For the first four months she thought she had it beat and continued to research other integrative methods.  She continued doing what she has always done—work hard. She was determined not to let cancer stop her.

Unfortunately, the cancer continued to progress.

By July, the tumor had grown enough to cause severe pain and eventually obstruct her kidneys. Christin spent a week in the hospital, underwent multiple blood transfusions, and required urgent procedures to restore drainage from her kidneys, including tubes/stents extending from her kidneys toward her bladder.

Thankfully, her kidney function recovered.

But the experience made one thing very clear: Christin needs additional treatment, and she needs it now.

After extensive research, Christin has chosen to pursue Verthermia, an alternative cancer treatment in Dallas, followed by additional care through Achieve Vitality in Garland.

In Christin’s own words:

> “My motto when I trained horses was, ‘Easy as I can be, hard as I have to be.’ I knew that I wanted to choose the least toxic option that gave me the best long-term outcome.”

Christin hopes that successful treatment will not only help her, but that sharing her journey may someday help other people facing cancer learn about additional treatment options.

Help Us Raise $250,000

The financial mountain in front of Christin is enormous.

Her planned Verthermia treatment alone is approximately $175,000 and is not covered by insurance.

Her additional treatment through Achieve Vitality is approximately $13,000.

And because Christin is self-employed and makes her living transporting RVs, being unable to drive means her income has stopped, but her expenses have not.

On top of that are insurance, utilities, groceries, transportation, existing and future medical expenses, medications, procedures, appointments, and all of the ordinary costs of living while she undergoes treatment and recovery.

That is why we are asking our friends, families, churches, communities, and anyone touched by Christin’s story to help us raise $250,000.

We know that is a mountain.

But mountains don’t have to be moved by one person.

25,000 people giving $10 would fully fund Christin’s goal.

Every $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 brings her one step closer. Every share puts her story in front of someone new. And every prayer surrounds Christin with something money could never buy.

Our hope is to remove as much of this financial burden as possible so Christin can put her energy where it belongs: fighting Stage IV cancer, healing, and getting back to the life and work she loves.

Christin has spent so much of her life working hard, serving others, encouraging people, and sharing her faith.

Now she needs an army standing behind her.

If you feel called to give, we are incredibly grateful. If you cannot donate, please share Christin’s story and pray for her healing, strength, peace, wisdom, and provision.

We are believing in faith that this mountain can move.

Every donation. Every share. Every prayer. It all matters.

Thank you for standing with Christin.

To God be the glory.
