Dearest families and friends,

Marina has been hospitalized for over a week now due to a mass found inside her cerebellum. Preliminary biopsy results required an urgent hospitalization, and she is scheduled for another biopsy today. Treatment decisions are becoming even more complicated due to multiple chemotherapy and immunotherapy in consideration. We are working with three oncology teams, each with their own expertise, and are balancing what seems to be competing treatment priorities. We prayerfully seek knowledge, wisdom, and discernment as we navigate treatment complexity. I will continue to update via text and email as available; please feel free to reach out with questions at any time. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

Marina is recommended by the neuro-oncology team to start five inpatient courses of chemotherapy. We are unsure for how long she will be hospitalized for each cycle, what recovery will look like between cycles, and what her needs would be at this time. Honestly, we are overwhelmed. We need your help. Marina is anticipated to need full-time assistance, as she is unsteady standing up, walking, and needs support with balancing.

Marina is a courageous woman. Despite feeling overwhelmed and in pain, she is known by many physicians and nurses to be kind and courteous. Maggie is a delightful girl to be around. We eagerly anticipate and oh so look forward to spending time with you. To share a simple meal together. To laugh with ease together.

We appreciate your encouragement and generosity.

Marina, Maggie, and Sam
