I have COPD that was diagnosed in Feb. 2025 and stage 1 lung cancer that was diagnosed in April 2025. I went through radiation for the lung cancer and it appears that the radiation was successful treating it. However my follow-up CAT scan in July showed it moved to my liver which changed it to stage 4 cancer. Then I went through Chemo for the spot on my liver, and it appears that the treatment was successful. I am currently going for immuno-therapy treatments every 3 weeks, and it seems to be working. The cancer has shrunk, and the Dr. says things are looking good.
I signed up for disability and after 6 months with no income was finally approved. I found out there is a 5 month mandatory waiting period for the disability to start. I have exhausted my savings and retirement just to keep going this long. My credit cards are behind, and my bills still come due every month. I’m worried about being able to pay my rent on time for next month. God has provided and taken care of us so far. But I still need help to get caught up and continue to pay my rent, utilities and medical bills.
I spent 40 years as a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. Always giving my time, and help to others in need. Missing time with my family to help others. Now, I am the one in need, I hope and pray someone can find it in their heart to help me in my time of need. My wife works everyday and that helps keep us going, but there is nothing left to spare.
