My name is Diana Speerbrecher, and I am fundraising for my husband, Kurt Speerbrecher, who is currently fighting stage IV non‑smoker lung cancer.
Kurt is undergoing chemotherapy, and the side effects have been overwhelming. The chemo has caused extreme fatigue, persistent nausea, and widespread pain, making it incredibly difficult for him to function day to day and unable to work some days.
Recently, Kurt had a Mobile IV treatment, which included saline hydration with B‑complex vitamins and B12. This IV Mobile service came straight to our house since Kurt was extremely sick and in a lot of pain. This treatment made a remarkable difference. Since he received this treatment last week, he has been able to function normally for the most part—he has had more energy, less nausea, less pain, and a better ability to participate in daily life as well as being able to cognitively function for work. Simply put, we believe these treatments will help give him quality of life during an otherwise exhausting and painful journey with chemotherapy.
Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover these IV treatments, as they are not considered “medically necessary,” despite the very real and profound impact they have on Kurt’s well‑being. As a result, the cost falls entirely on us.
How Your Support Helps
Funds raised will go directly toward:
- Ongoing IV hydration and vitamin infusions
- Helping ensure Kurt can continue these treatments without interruption
- Help with any other medical bills or legal issues that may arise.
Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us keep Kurt feeling stronger, more comfortable, and better able to face his cancer treatments.
If you’re unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser, keeping Kurt in your thoughts and daily prayers, or sending words of encouragement also means more than we can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly challenging time.
With gratitude,
Diana & Kurt Speerbrecher
