My Dad found out last month that he has Stage 3 lung cancer. They have him on a schedule of radiation and chemo therapy and are doing aggressive treatments now, which means he is no longer able to do the side work he was doing. My parents are travelling each week to the town where the radiation/chemo treatment is being given, staying in a hotel, and then returning home at the end of the week. He is a Senior, but still worked a little as a carpenter, which is why he has a truck. The truck has a balance of $16,000 on it, which is what I would love to raise so it could be paid off and not have to worry about this monthly bill. The parents do have the vehicle up for sale at this point, but it is not a guarantee that it will be sold. To pay the vehicle off would just be one less thing that they need to worry about with all of the treatments, etc. that are scheduled. The treatments are running on in to the Spring of 2026.
The costs of going to treatment, staying in a hotel, etc., etc. are enough, but the added bill of the truck is a large mountain for him at this time. Although I would love to pay this bill directly for him, I am not financially able to so this is the reason I am asking for donations. I live out of town and am not there to assist with the day to day travel, etc.
