***Quick update for everyone***Tuesday Sept 10th 2024***
Hello everyone, we flew down to Tempe AZ on Sunday-Monday of this week to take a tour of the Cancer treatment center and meet the staff. We really liked what we saw and are moving forward on Joyce’s treatment plan. Her first treatment with be Sat Sept 21st so we will be packing things up this week and driving down this coming Sunday.
We want to thank everyone who has given to the fund for the treatment and living expenses for the 12 weeks we will be in the Phoenix-Tempe area. Joyce is ready to get things started and we just wanted to make sure it was the right fit for us before we drove down! We are so thankful for everyone’s prayers and support during this time it means the world to us. Thank you for sharing this with other people as we will need to continue to raise funds while we are there!
You guys are AWESOME!! We Love you all and we will be making Christmas presents for all of you from Cactus plants we find in the area!!
Thanks again, all our love,
Sean & Joyce
The day after Mother’s Day of this year, Joyce developed a cough and felt very sick. Ten days after the cough started, at her 2nd visit to urgent care, she requested a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia. That chest x-ray revealed something that needed further imaging. A CT scan then revealed an 8.5 cm x 8.2 cm x 4.1 cm tumor located between her heart and her left lung. After undergoing a surgical biopsy, Joyce was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Due to the location of the tumor, surgery was ruled out as an option to remove the cancer.
This Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis has been extremely shocking for anyone who knows her.
We have found a clinic in Arizona that offers a type of treatment that we feel safest exploring, and they appear to have had good results. We are hoping to raise enough funds to cover the anticipated expenses so Joyce can receive this type of non-toxic treatment for the scheduled time of at least 12 weeks. The money raised will pay for all of the treatment costs as well as necessary labs and imaging, travel, lodging, meals and any follow up medical expenses that won’t be covered by our medical insurance once we are back home.
We are sincerely grateful for any donation to help us pay for these expenses! Every donation will greatly multiply the funds that are needed to accomplish the goal of Joyce being in remission and, ultimately, cancer free. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
