I am trying to help my son and his 3 year old boy. My 3 year old grandson is having open heart surgery at UVA and has been rescheduled 3 times now because they tell them they are understaffed and my son has lost over a week of work. They rescheduled it for a Tues with preop on a Monday which means he will miss another week of work (he will not leave that boys side for nothing during this) unless they call Monday and reschedule again. If they do he will miss that day cause we will be on the road traveling to the hospital but it has added up. That has put a burden on him and they tell them at very last minute (like maybe the day before) that they can’t do it, it has been rescheduled. We are hoping they will go ahead and do it this time around but it will be another week of work lost for my son. He has a house payment, lights, gas, car insurance, child support among other things that goes along with all this. I am not looking for much to help him, just enough to get him by. Any and all help will be appreciated and he does not know I am doing this for him. I have provided all I can to help him and hoping by doing this he can get a little more help some breathing room cause his bank account is 0 and he never lets it get like that. He don’t think there is people out there that care about stuff like this and I would like to show him there is people that do care, if not about him then about the 3 year old who shouldn’t have to go through this. He is such a sweet boy as any child should be at that age. He has a leaky valve that not pumping back out like it should and it went from a little incision to having to open him up. The heart mummer was dismissed when he was a baby but another dr not long ago was asking about it cause he heard something when doing a regular check up on the child and that is when they found the problem. If not taken care of soon, he could have all kinds of lung problems cause it is also leaking into his lungs. Please help even if it is $1, ever little bit helps. Thank you all and God Bless You.
Update, this has gotten postponed again. He has a cough and they said if he coughs during surgery a couple days stay could turn into a few weeks. So now he has to see a Dr for the cough and get that cleared up before he can have the surgery.
Update, Connor went to primary dr and he has to be on antibodies for 10 days to clear up coughing before he can have surgery.
