I have a very dear friend whose mother has Marfan’s Syndrome and has been hospitalized for the past week with complications. Without surgery she is expected to die shortly. There is a medical procedure available that involves a transplant of artifucial material that will repair her damaged aorta and allow her to live. She has a 15 year old son and my friend, the 19 year old daughter that she is taking care of. If she does not survive the two will be left alone. Due to her illness she has been unable to work and has very little to leave to provide for her children. It is likely the son will end up in foster care.
The hospital they are talking to about surgery is asking for $40,000 up front to perform the surgery, then three more payments of $30,000 each. She needs at least the $40,000 to get the surgery and to save her life. I am hoping to find a way to help them get the surgery and we will figure out the other once her life is no longer in danger.
WITHOUT PAYMENT she will not get the surgery and she her life expectancy is less likely only weeks, so this is an urgent situation.
I am acting as intermediary for this campaign because she is incapacitate and her daughter is only able to do so much. There is no other family. All funds received will be used for her medial expenses if we can raise them in time, or returned to donors.
