On 4/23/2025, my world changed forever when I suffered a heart attack that uncovered AFIB, a severe stenosis of my aortic valve, and blockage. Doctors performed a double bypass, replaced my aortic valve, and placed an atrial clip June 12, 2025. There is more to the story, but this is the gist and the most important information.
I’m incredibly thankful to be alive, but the financial impact of this sudden medical crisis is overwhelming. I live solely on a limited retirement income, have no health insurance, and haven’t yet reached full retirement age to access additional benefits. The mounting medical bills—hospital stays, surgery costs, medications, and rehabilitation—are far beyond what I can afford.
