Our 16 year old daughter flatlined after a suicide attempt, and after 5 years of complete chaos in our lives and several suicide attempts by our daughter, as well as having our home destroyed, and our careers ruined, we are completely at our wits end and don’t know what to do because there doesn’t seem to be help from anywhere. Please come and tell us they can’t do anything when she’s violent. We’ve tried to keep her out of the hospital, but we are going to have to put her into a home now after this last suicide attempt because of the complications from it.
Please, my wife and I have exhausted our resources and ran out of FMLA and short term disability. I our insurance has paid out over half $1 million trying to get her help and they keep sending her home early and that all makes her worse. There’s nothing that anybody will do even after we’re promised resources from case managers. Now we have the IRS sending us a final notice saying that we owe $5000 in back taxes that our attorney was supposed to have taken care of with the bankruptcy that got canceled. That’s the least of our problem because our electricity and all utilities have been shut off and now she’s coming home from the hospital to a house with no running water or electricity.
I never thought we’d be here in this position asking for help from strangers. But she has simply drained everything that we had built up as she doesn’t even care, but we are just trying to get through the next few days to get her placed into a home somewhere. Kansas City Power and Light refuses to even work with us.. When we were trying to file bankruptcy, the lawyer told us that we weren’t supposed to pay any bills while we were going through the process. Then they said that we didn’t make enough money to file bankruptcy we wouldn’t be able to make the payments. Now we have $3600 to pay before we can even get our electricity turned back on. I know this is a longshot but please help if you can. My wife and I are both dangerously close to completely breaking down and we are so depressed hurt. We don’t know what else to do but right now we can barely even breath. Please help if you can.
It’s okay if you don’t understand how devastating this is. Most people cannot comprehend how hard it is to watch your daughter go through this trauma and get so discouraged that she prays to die. Then to watch her turn blue I didn’t have to be revived is something no parents should ever have to see. Please help if you can.
