Malachi was such a healthy 19-year-old that he had never even had a single drug his entire life, including antibiotics. He had been working, going to school and playing volleyball competitively. Spring of 2021, he began showing signs of autoimmune hepatitis which eventually led to complete liver failure May 2022. They have no idea what would’ve brought on the autoimmune issue. He had a transplant back in May after being in a coma for 5 days and struggled to regain his health after. The new liver also ended up failing and Malachi just received another new liver on November 28th, 2022. This boy is fighting so hard for his life and working hard at his recovery. We believe that he will make a strong recovery and live a full life! He is currently in a hospital in Tx, and the rest of his family lives in Ga. It is very taxing on the family and while the community around us (in both places) have been unbelievably helpful and generous, the expenses are great. Anything you feel led to give would make a tremendous impact in Malachi’s life, as well as his family’s.
