Kadan Baird is a 4 year old boy that was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He was given a chance to receive a surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. This surgery will give him the chance to walk! He is so motivated and wants to just get up and run around like any 4 year old boy. Insurance wont cover the surgery and we are having a hard time finding a commercial plan that will cover it. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is where it will be done, they gave me a fixed cost of $40,000 and as soon as we have it, surgery will be performed. As a momma, all I want to do is give my son this chance! He definitely deserves this chance. There is only 4 doctors in the united states that perform this surgery and you have to meet so many requirements. I got the call from Dr. Roland saying after reviewing all Kadans information, he is a perfect candidate! Getting that call stirred up so many emotions! It is super stressful having to come up with the $40,000 plus gas, food, and whatever other expenses i will have but I know it is possible and all i am worried about getting is his surgery cost. It is going to be a long recovery but well worth it when he gets to walk and run around like all four year olds should. Thank you for taking the time to read about my boy!
