Our beloved friend Cherith is courageously facing a renewed battle with cancer. In 2020, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a full mastectomy with reconstruction. We had hoped that would be the end of her cancer journey—but in April of this year, she received devastating news: the cancer had returned, this time in her 5th rib, lymph node, and thoracic artery.
After consulting with doctors and surgeons, it was clear that surgery was necessary. They successfully removed 1.5 ribs and inserted a titanium plate. The cancer was removed, and from a surgical perspective, she is now cancer-free. But the procedure was intense—requiring the cutting of muscles, bone, and nerves. Her surgeon called it one of the most painful surgeries he performs.
Now, Cherith faces a long and difficult road to recovery—not only physically and emotionally, but financially. While medical bills continue to mount, she’s also choosing to support her healing with homeopathic and natural therapies—treatments that insurance doesn’t cover.
