I was fortunate on my yearly Health and Wellness Checkup. The blood tests showed high PSA Level. Which prompted me going to Urologist. I was fortunate it was caught early.

I am on Medicare and was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in December.

I received a hormone injection and then starting in February, started five weeks, 5 days a week, Radiation Treatments at Franciscan Health Care Center Lafayette Indiana. I finished them in March. But with the costs of doctor visits and economy. I still owe $3670.00 for treatments. I would deeply appreciate any help. I have never done any go fund me. So, this makes me nervous. I have another hormone injection on June 13th to keep my PSA Level to near zero. Which cancer feeds on testosterone. I have 2 more injections for one more year. Going back to November I had a biopsy on my prostate. Then a Pet Scan. Showing that the cancer had not spread to other parts of my body. I am still seeing my cancer doctor every three months. After my last hormone injection in June 2026. It will be a wait and see when my PSA Level goes back to normal. Then I will see if am rid of cancer.

Prostate cancer is a growth of cells that starts in the prostate. The prostate is a small gland that helps make semen. It’s found just below the bladder. The prostate is part of the male reproductive system.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. Prostate cancer is usually found early, and it often grows slowly. Most people with prostate cancer are cured.

People diagnosed with early prostate cancer often have many treatment options to consider. It can feel overwhelming to learn about all the options and make a choice. Treatments may include surgery, radiation therapy or carefully watching the prostate cancer to see if it grows.

If the cancer grows beyond the prostate or if it spreads, there are still many treatment options. Prostate cancer that spreads can be more difficult to cure. But even when a cure isn’t possible, treatments can slow the growth of the cancer and help you live longer.
